Delisting is Friday the 13th for Canwest Global Communications Corp.
I find it interesting that Canwest Global Communications Corp has received notice of being delisted from the TSX, sadly lowering its status as a TSX company, demoted from a fully trading TSX to possibly a public issuer on the TSXV or NEX listing. (www.nexlistings.com)
Apparently, the company will be delisted Nov. 13th 2009, ironically Friday the 13th. Trading of the 23.5 cent shares are still suspended.
Canwest spokesman John Douglas says:
“We could go on the TSX Venture Exchange or the NEX, if we chose to do that. No decision has been made there,” he said.
“We believe that when the financial restructuring is completed in four to six months we’ll emerge a stronger competitor with less debt, and renewed financial outlook. When all of that happens, we believe we’ll have a strong case to be put back on the (TSX) again.”
The TSX delisting was imposed for failure by Canwest to meet the continued listing requirements. Any appeal of the decision must be initiated by Oct. 21, 2009.
